    Post Filing... Credit Report Question

My Filing date was 3/6/08. On 3/15/08 Chase Mortgage reported to Experian that I was 30 days late. My February check bounced (planned), however I was under the impression that once you file, creditors are limited to what they can report (IIB). They were reporting 'current' as of Friday 3/14.
    Filed Ch7 3/6/08 [X]
    341 hearing 4/10/08 [X]
Last day for Objections 6/9/08 [X]
    Discharge AND Closed 6/23/08 [X]

Unfortunately, from what I've heard, it seems like many creditors can take up to one or two months before they start reporting correctly. I think this is because it takes a while for creditors to update their systems and such.

Do yourself a favor. Check everything I say with a bankruptcy attorney. Most attorneys will even provide a free initial consultation. In fact, it's your life, so check everything anyone says (including your attorney) for yourself!

Thats just it. On 3/15 they reported IIB, but also included me being 30 days late. They also included a note saying that I filed chapter 7 on 3/15.

It sounds to me like they waited until the end of my grace period this month to acknowlodge my filing.

I decided to dispute this item. They also reported a CC as IIB on 3/14, and noted me filing on 3/14... I'm not sure why there is a discrepency.

If you were actually 30 days late with the payment prior to filing, they can list that. They cannot, however, list anything being late after the filing date.
