Hello... wow am i glad to see this forum... where has it been the last 7 months...lol.
my hub and i filed for bk on august 8,2007... with an attorneys help on or about 9-6-07 we had the hearing with the Trustee. the lawyer said it went well. this was all due to be over around 11-5-07. around 11-9-07 we got word that there was a delay due to land we bought in PA from a man for 1.00 it was all ligit and my hub has the closing paperwork and all total with closing costs and lawyers titles etc . it cost about 2,000.00 this land is in an association and is not perked... so we cant build on it anytime soon, the owner wanted to dump it and even had it on craigs list for 1.00. the association dues because its a lake property are about 1,000.00 a year and he wanted to not pay anymore ! there was no fishy business. just some land we thought we would grab for sometime when we retire (in about 10-15 years) but the trustee wanted to hear from the seller. i dont know if the man ever answered the trusetee but it was dropped and all was well. we got the paper work on that abdandonemnt or whatever its called saying all was well. then it was due to be over on dec 17th. but another extention came around this time cause of my hubs 401k loans. they wanted to boost us into chap 13 and instead of him paying him self back he should pay the creditors. however on 12-22-007 i got my hours cut from 40/week to 16. this was extrememly distressing. the next date it was supposed to be over was jan 18.08..... so i faxed the lawyer a letter from my boss on our comp. letterhead stating the cut in hours. my attorney notified us a few days before te 18th that he ran into someone in charge of our case and they stated because i lost my hours they were no longer going to persue ... yet its almost 2 months and we have no paperwork.
my husband and i want to have those in hand. we called the lawyer last month and he said they are not waiting for anything... i hope they send them soon. now we will call him again a month later which will be this coming monday to see if he has any clue...
why do you think wehave not heard anything ?
is it okay to send in our taxes on april 15th as we are getting back a few thousand dollars as we owned a business which we have had to close but we are getting back from last years losses in the business ? can they request that money from us? im really upset this is much longer than i have ever expected. i think i am getting an ulcer over it all. i thought it was only 60 or 90 days and the extensions and the limbo ohhh its awful !
