I never lost online access at all, this was almost 2 years ago. I didn't reaffirm my car loan, but I continued automatic payments.
I am still a USAA customer.
Either you got lucky and slipped through the cracks (might want to remain somewhat anonymous) or they handle things differently for different customers (doubtful). The Executive Office rep I spoke with stated it was a policy for all bankruptcies and there were no exceptions (I tried and even with all of the business I have with them and all the years I have been with them, the best they do is allow access to USAA Mobile).

I didn't file on anything with them, they are still getting all of their money from me.
So yes, there are exceptions.
