12 days until this is over

I have 12 days to go, guess I need some support.
New baby will be here FEB 19 2008( via c section) same day as last day for objections. I tried to change the date but due to presidents day I had no choice.

Car got took last night in mid night.. They didnt call or anything .. Funny did know it would hurt soo much. I think it just made me realize that I have made some bad choices with my money in the past. Now I have to find a new car (used) I have the money just cant choose. I have 3 kids not much you can get with 3000 that would fit all of us.. So my mother talked me into looking at this website to finance one.. urggg I just cant do it. I cant be back in debt and have the chance of someone taking my car from me if anything would ever happen. Its crazy (life) I have learned a big lesson from all this. I will never be here again.

guess I have a question any suggestions on finding a nice cheap car?
beside craigslist I have been all over that.

    Thanks Guys

Congrats on getting this far...it's going to be great, and it's good karma to have a new life start on the day before your fresh financial start As far as the car, you're military, right? If there a lot on post? Sometimes people have to get rid of cars fast because of PCS or deployment.

I felt the same way when I surrendered my car. I had worked on my credit enough to be able to do it, but didn't work on my money skills. A move like ours should not have hurt that much. We did lose a lot of our income, but if we would have had a savings, it would not have been so bad. It's great that your mom is so supportive.

yeah I need to work on my credit before thinking of anything with money involved. I just feel so tired of this entire situation. I know you can relate with the long waiting.

I've bought a number of used cars for cash so her goes some suggestions.

Local newspaper (cars for sale and auctions), back row of car dealerships, look up the local towing companies and see when they have auctions (they will often send you a list of what they have if you request it), ask around, go for a drive (you'll see parked cars with for sale signs), do you have a "park it and mark it" lot in town (find it and drive through), ebay (restrict your search to local vehicles).

Do you have any mechanically inclided friend who can go with you once you narrow your choice down.

Last year, right out of bankruptcy, we found a used Ford Explorer for 1800. So it is definately possible. Just make sure to leave room in your budget for repeairs since you will probably have an older vehicle with higher miles.

Congratulation on the new baby. I had two c-sections myself. Enjoy that new bundle of joy.

Does your state have a government auction? They get rid of alot of late model high mileage cars that have been generally well taken care of. Ours has alot of cars for a larger family- vans, wagons, SUV's, etc... For 3k you could get a decent ride. Check your local grocery store for Auto sales magazines- sometimes there are good sales in there. Also- try searching online too (like AutoTrader and Cars.com). I hope your delivery is quick and easy!

I found the second c-section so much easier. The recovery seemed to be a breeze compared to the first time. Of course I had 24hrs of labor prior to the c-section on the first one.

              Good luck.
