Well, we took another baby step.
We went to the attorney today, and she was impressed by how prepared we were. It made things so much easier understanding the "lingo", and knowing what to expect before our visit with her.
She looked at our I & J and said that we had about 220 surplus each month, but that with 2 small children, some things could be adjusted up.
Our fee is $1600 + filing fee of $299. More than I expected, but a small price to pay for getting free from our debts.
What a relief.
We are moving into our apartment March 17th. We will call the credit union this week to see about surrenduring the vehicle. Once we are moved out she said to call our lender and make arrangements to get them our keys and let them know we are surrenduring the house.
We also explained that we NEED our tax refund to move with. She said, "well, if it's gone when you file, the trustee can't take it"
Anyway, thanks so much everyone for your support. We are awaiting our tax money...we will pay our attorney, spend the rest of our money on stuff for the new place and then file.
Not much longer now.
