We are coming down the stretch to our 341 (it is on Feb 5) and we just got the reaffirmation paperwork for one of our cars in the mail from our attorney. We did request to reaffirm both cars but have now decided we would rather let one go because I am going to quit working, although I will still be working as of our 341 if I put in my two weeks Monday- I essentially make enough to pay for the car and I'd rather not work, no car means not getting to work because DH's job is a "must have reliable transportation to travel in his regional area". Our car payments are current, next payment on the car we decided to let go is due February 12.
Anybody have a good guess on how long it would take for them to ask to lift the stay?
And do we have to go through the regular repossession or do you think it is possible to just drop the car off where the bank requests?
I'm kind of trying to figure out how long we might be able to hang onto the car before we have to let it go once we stop paying After that it will be 6 months of me staying home with no car before we will have enough money set aside to buy a cheapo get around town car.
Thanks!
