Credit Card before you file

Hi all,

Thanks again for all of your support as I go through this BK.

Question: Is it OK to tell my mortgage companies (surrendering multi-properties) and/or credit card companies that I am planning on filing for BK next month or do I just keep ignoring the irritating phone calls at all times of the night?

What do you mean by all times of the night? They can call until 9 pm legally.

Anyway, go ahead and tell them all you're filing. Most will stop bugging you.

Not sure who your mortgage company is, but Countrywide did not stop calling me until I actually filed. This was after 2 written and 1 verbal request for them to stop.
The last call from them was AFTER I filed, they were calling me to ask if I had filed. I said yes and no more calls.

Yes Countrywide is one of my mortgage companies that is calling. I will let them all know that I am filing BK next month and to please stop calling me. If they don't there is always the IGNORE button on my phone.
