I noticed on my credit report that My score has now gone up?? its 675?? thats strange...Anyway My wifes stident loan payment was always paid directly from the bank as a debit each month, they stoped taking it out when we filed and now that the case is closed they stil are not taking payments out? they have not called us at all and on the Credit report it just says IIB Next to that creditor...Does this mean we will not have to pay this anymore? I know its a gray area..thanks

Drummer, you definitely need to check into that student loan thing. Many people have mentioned that their ability to pay online was affected by bk, but you need to make sure you're either paying or it is in forbearance of some sort. Definitely give them a call as soon as you can, because student loans are generally NOT dischargeable, the gray area is actually very very tiny. Good luck!Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

I used to work for a student loan company. We were required to put a bankruptcy forbearance on all loans when notified of a bankruptcy. It was usually a set amount of time and then it came off unless the BK was still in process, then it was extended. You can call and ask, but I'm guessing they'll send you info on when your payments are due once the forbearance is close to ending.CJ
