    Making car payments after filing

I am continuing to pay my car but not reaffirming.

As soon as I filed, Honda Financial cut me off from the web site which I always use to pay my bill. So last time I sent the bill in via mail, as I had received the bill in the mail right before filing.

This time I didn't even get a bill. So there is no bill and no ability to pay via net.

    Questions:
    1) Do I just send a payment with a copy of my old bill receipt, showing my account number this time?
    2) Will they start sending me bills again after I've been discharged, or will I now always have to copy bills to send them in my own envelopes?
    3) Or will they re-open the web account after I am discharged?
IF they require me to sign up again for web payment, is there any kind of technicality whereby doing so would equate with "re-affirming the loan"? Or would re-affirmation take more legal work and paper work than just signing up for bill payment on the web? (My attorney told me not to reaffirm the loan, that he has never known a car to get repossessed even after discharge, as long as one is making payments on time. ANd that this is in my advantage, not to re-affirm.)

It's typical for auto lenders to cut off your online access after you file. They also won't send you payment stubs or any other payment method - they say that's a violation of the automatic stay.

Call the lender immediately and find out where to send your payments until your case is closed. Sometimes a large lender will shift your account to their bankruptcy division with a different payment address than you originally used.

Then set up online bill payment through your bank and pay the car payment that way so you have independent collaboration you made the payment on time every month. But it's going to be up to you to remember to make the payment on time. The lender isn't going to help you. If you pay late, then you open the door to the lender requesting to the court to lift the stay and start repossession actions.

Thanks. I forgot that I have bill pay through my bank. I've been putting off setting it up, but now is the time!
