    Pacer Automated Telephone System

    Telephone information system


    This is a no charge voice information system. You just find the court that you filed with and it lists a phone number to call. It gives you case information over the phone at no charge:



    I tried this today 12-12-07 just to see if it works. It does, I even found out my case was closed today...just today and I did not even know. I never had to go on Pacer online and there was no charge for the call. It was a local call from my state.

      Well I live in Illinois. I called the district listed for Northern Illinois and when the prompts came on, they ask you to hit #1 to get information on how to use the system, #2 if you want to get information by case number, #3 if you want information by name and #4 if you want information by social security number. At first I tried by case number with negative results, then I tried by name and that was too complicated, but #4 social security number did the trick. When it went through, the said my name first, then my case number, then my trustees name and how I filed, then it said my case status and my closing date. I could not believe it, but yes it worked for me.

            Pacer Automated Access via Telephone Update

            Hey, I just got frustrated and decided to cut and paste the who thing with telephone numbers and all. Remember this folks, before I posted that terrible website, I actually called the number for my district and all went well. The telephone number worked and my information was there. Try it out. Check below for your location.

            U.S. Supreme Court Clerk's Automated Response Systems (CARS): Permits caller using a standard touch-tone telephone to obtain the status of cases on the U.S. Supreme Court automated docket from an automated voice synthesizer response system. Recording tells callers to press "1" for case information, "2" for Bar admission information, or "4" to speak to a clerk. For best results, callers should have the Supreme Court docket number available when making an inquiry. The case name can also be used. Access to the CARS is currently provided at no cost.



            VCIS (Voice Case Information System) and AVIS (Appellate Voice Information System): VCIS and AVIS use an automated voice response system to read a limited amount of bankruptcy or appellate case information directly from the court's database in response to Touch-Tone telephone inquiries. Access to the VCIS and the AVIS is currently offered at no cost.

                Well Case Discharged and Closed as of Today...yipeee

                Hello fellow filers,
                Its been a long 6 month ordeal, but I am happy to report that today I received CASE CLOSED and DISCHARGE was on the 12th. I,m so happy I could just scream, but I decided that I would start right now getting myself back together. My leased vehicle which is the only thing my trustee allowed me to keep and work out details with GM will be up in 1yr and 6mos. I am saving for the down payment on whatever car I decided to get in 2009 June. I kind of want to save for a Chevy Impala. NO more leased vehicles for me.

                My credit union decided to give me back the one and only credit card I will have today. That was good also. They wanted copies of the discharge.

                I also received a letter that the discharge papers were sent to all the creditors I had on my matrix. I did not know they did that. They sent them all the discharge and closed paperwork yesterday. What a relief. I was actually thinking about doing that myself just out of general principal....lol. Saved me the trouble.

                Well, hopefully I will be able to continue to help folks here as others have helped me. Thanks to all of you. I could never have done it without you guys....
