My two cents....Well, with inflation, 10 cents? I would think there would be a possible conflict of interest. When in doubt, tell your attorney. Ah, as I type this, I scrolled up and see you did ask. Maybe he wants to put the trustee on the spot at the 341 to make him squirm so he goes easy on you?

Should I ask for a different trustee...

Working in the same building doesn't necessarily mean the trustee has any connection to the creditor. It's not unusual for several completely unrelated firms to lease office space in the same building. If the trustee and creditor firm have different suite numbers, that's likely the case, unless they share a firm name (not just a street address). Still, it's a question your attorney should ask the trustee, just in case.Last edited by joab; 12-19-2007, 11:52 AM.

Isn't it the Trustee's job to perform his job by abiding by the BK laws of your state? I don't think this guy can legally "do" anything vendictive to you, but asking the question is definately smart.
I had a consultation with an atty that happens to be one of three Ch. 7 Trustees in my district. I decided not to go with his firm, but I will mention that fact to my lawyer when I file so that if I get him in the luck of the draw, I can avoid conflict of interest.Filed Chapter 7 (Primarily Business Expenses) 04/10/2008 FICO 468
