I finally bit the bullet and filed back around the middle of November and just had my 341 meeting yesterday. It was just like everyone said it would be---smooth, fast and with no creditors in attendance. The trustee wasn't concerned about anything that had transpired in the recent past, including credit card useage and the purchase of a new car. In fact, I plan to forfeit a leased Lexus valued at around 37,000 but it looks like I may have the car until about February.
All in all, it hasn't been as hideous an experience as I had once imagined it would be. From what I could tell, bankruptcy is just a business--like any other. The lawyers all know the trustee...the trustee drones out the same set of questions and instructions to everyone, and then you're shuffled on your way. I must have seen a dozen people go before me and that only took about a half hour. Lord, I should have stayed in law school.
