Once You are Discharged and Closed......

Rebuilding starts how soon after these things? I am deeply afraid of credit at this point, but I know I need just a little to survive in this big bad world. What suggestions do you guys have for credit card companies who will give you a small card just to get you back on your feet?

What should a person do to help rebuild their credit themselves?

See the "Rebuilding Credit" forum here as part of this site!
Here's a particular thread on which cards are best:

Based on this, I'm going with First National Bank of Ohama if they'll approve me!
If that doesn't work, then Orchard I guess.

Watch the Orchard CC Fees and Premier CC, you could end up owing $200 or more before you even get credit, and usually $300 minimum, $500 max for starters, the longer you can put yourself between being discharged and getting card, the better the chances of getting a good credit card.

I started out with a secured card by New Millenium (spelling)
        $99 processing fee
$300 of my own money into a savings account (you can build slowly on the savings account once it reaches $300 they issue a card) you can build on that every $50-$100 max $5000 over time (your money is your credit!)
$59 annual fee (you have to be with them for at least a year)

Than I got me a Hooters Card, no processing fee, $29 annual fee and $1000 line of credit (owned by Merrick Bank)

Than I just got approved for a Capital One Card, $29 annual fee and $3000 line of credit

I'm planning on dropping New Millenium after a year is up! And I'll get my money back (which I built up to $600)

Others will chime in here, with their experience.

        Best of Luck, Catchmeifyoucan
