341 Meeting today....after all the advise from this board to relax...>>

....why is my stomach all in knots & of course what happens after that. I hope I "get it all out of my system" before I go to the courthouse today at 1:30!! LOL!! (well at least I'm trying to laugh). Any last minutes words of advise or support?? If you folks give hugs...I could use a virtual one or two also. Anything to settle the tornado in my tummy!

I do have a question though. I could not, for the life of me, find my ss card. I looked high & low (I did find my school volunteer card that I lost last year - something good always comes out of something). I went to the SS admin office earlier this week. The lady there said it would be 2 weeks appx for my replacement card to arrive. She gave me papers of my request for the card as proof of my ssn. She said that should suffice in court. Has anyone ever had to use that because they couldn't find their ss card, & was it accepted or not??

Can't help with the SSN card, but here's TWO virtual <hugs> <hugs> to help with the butterflies. Hang in there - your 341 will be over before you know it! Come back after and let us know how it goes, ok?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

((((((BIG HUGS))))))) Do you have anything w/ your soc on it? Tax forms may work. I can't think of anything else. It is supposed to show who you are so I would assume it may work - along w/ the paper you received from the SS. office. Just an opinion, I've not actually had that problem.

I never had to use that paper in court for anything. But when I got married and changed my name, the lady at the SS office told me the same thing - that this would suffice as proof, should I need it. I took that paper to the DMV and got my licensed changed with it.

Daughter ran into a problem with Sallie Mae earlier this year.

Some person some where was a cosigner on a loan for another student. Sallie Mae inverted the cosigner's SSN and Poof!! DD was in Sallie Mae's system already as being responsible for student loans.

Anyway,......... We went to the Soc Sec office to make sure that DD's SSN was indeed her SSN.

The Lady at the Soc Sec Office fixed up a printout sheet of paper with some sort of Statement on it. Something to the effect of "The Soc Sec Office verifies that they identified <<insert name of person>> and this is their SSN." Then she signed and dated it. Stamped and sealed it.

I asked for an extra copy to send to Sallie Mae. The lady at Soc Sec said we didn't wanna do that. That Statement, signed, dated, stamped, and sealed, would be like handing someone your Soc Sec card.

Hopefully, the statement from the Soc Sec office will do in place of your SSN card.

            Good Luck today!!
