    New job or wait???

I filed chapter 13 in March. My case was confirmed on a 60 month plan. I converted to a chapter 7 in September, and reaffirmed my vehicle. I had my 341 meeting on Oct 22, and my last day for objections is December 24th. I have been offered a job , making $17 an hour. As of right now, I am not working. I have not worked for 1 year. So , I have no income included in the bankruptcy. I would not be working full time, but maybe one or 2 days a week. I am wondering if there is a chance this could mess up my bankruptcy? If there is even a small chance I am not going to take the job until after the discharge. The job would just be for extra christmas money so it's not a matter of food or shelter. But, I would not mind working if I could be sure it would not mess up my bankruptcy.

My chapter 13 went through without any objections.. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this one will go through too, I just don't want to do anything to mess it up.

Also, if the new job pulls my credit report, could that mess up my bankruptcy?? I'm not worried about it affecting my ability to get a job, I have worked at this same place before and have a good relationship with most of the staff.

    Thanks!

You filed.......had your 341 hearing. No reason not to get a job now.

My attorney told me that if our income goes up 20% or more after the 341 but before the discharge, we have to tell the Trustee.

Is this not true in all cases?

FINALLY DISCHARGED 92 DAYS AFTER THE 341! A NEW START!!!

Question: How did they confirm a 13 with no income in March?

          Similiar Case

I filed chapter 13 in March.
          I filed in July 2006 Ch 13.

My case was confirmed on a 60 month plan.
My case was "UNconfirmed on a 60 month plan the Trustee was fighting for $800! My case went to the Judge! I was still paying $250 on the proposed plan though until I decided to convert"

I converted to a chapter 7 in September
          I converted to Ch7 in October 2006

          , and reaffirmed my vehicle
I never reaffirmed my vechicle, I "rode through."

. I had my 341 meeting on Oct 22, and my last day for objections is December 24th.
I had another 341 meeting in Nov 2006, my last day for objections was Jan 2006

I have been offered a job , making $17 an hour.
I had to quit one of my full time jobs in order to convert to Ch7, but I picked up a poop load of OT from the job I kept, and it felt like I never even quit one job!

As of right now, I am not working. I have not worked for 1 year. So , I have no income included in the bankruptcy. I would not be working full time, but maybe one or 2 days a week. I am wondering if there is a chance this could mess up my bankruptcy?
There is always the chance the Trustee could find out, but it's not like you would be making a ton of money to be able to payback the creditors or fund a Ch13. I'm pretty sure you could pull in a couple of hours. I believe you have to have a steady income to fund a 13 anyways.

If there is even a small chance I am not going to take the job until after the discharge.
You definitely can do what you want after the discharge, make all the money you want at that.

The job would just be for extra christmas money so it's not a matter of food or shelter. But, I would not mind working if I could be sure it would not mess up my bankruptcy.
My chapter 13 went through without any objections..
My Ch13 went through with no objections (except from the Trustee who wanted more money but none from the creditors) - it leaves the creditors under the impression they are going to get paid something and nothing at all.

I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that this one will go through too, I just don't want to do anything to mess it up.
All your doing is waiting the 60 days out for creditor objections. If I were you, I know that I would pickup hours only because I actually did do it. But that is the risk I took during the 60 day wait period.

Also, if the new job pulls my credit report, could that mess up my bankruptcy??
Sopposedly bankruptcy is not SOPPOSE have an affect on your new job, that would be discrimination. Why would they pull up your credit history? (unless you are working for a financial institution of some sort?) I think most companies (depending on what you do would rather see you have little if NO debt!) I know for example the TSA (transportation security admin) had told an employee if you dont clean up your credit or file for bankruptcy we will have to let you go - it even states it in their employment application!

I'm not worried about it affecting my ability to get a job, I have worked at this same place before and have a good relationship with most of the staff.
