Got a weird call last night

    Hi,

Formax Financial called and left a message onmy voicemail lastnight. It said, Hi Rhiannon this is Carol call me at 800-905-1134. The problem I have with this is that Rhiannon is my nine year old daughter. Why would a collection agency being calling her? How did they get my daughters name? Is this illegal?
I called them this morning and they are not open yet. Any advise on how to handle this? My husband called the 3 credit reporting agencies lastnight to get a copy of her credit report. Why would they use my daughter to get to me. I'm pissed off about this.

Could be something sinister, or could be a skip tracer gone bad. I would make sure when you call them to have them answer your questions first about who they are really trying to contact and what it's regarding. If they are trying to get to you, I'd be half tempted to call my attorney see if what they are doing is legal.

Don't have the foggiest idea how they got your daughter's name since she is only 9 years old and not on any credit reports.

        and tape the call
It's not what we have in our lives, but who we have in our lives and the quality of those relationships.

It could be a collection call related to medical care your daughter received. Sometimes the medical provider fails to record that the patient is a minor in the information the CA receives. Years ago I got calls for my youngest son (he was 3) from a hospital for and ER visit that was covered by Medicaid. Something got crossed because we got calls after the bill was paid. I contacted the hospital and told them they were trying to collect from a 3 yr old and the bill was already paid. They apologized for calling asking for my son.

I just saw a commercial last night that identity theft is on the rise regarding children. Something to keep in mind.

During the last vacation we took, a television fell on my granddaughter's foot. The sitter took her to the hospital. We didn't have insurance at the time and had to pay the bill off in installments, which I paid every month as promised. In the mean time, the hospital placed a lien against my granddaughter. It was supposed to be released when the bill was paid in full. Talk about incentive to pay!!! My granddaughter was 18 months old at the time.
I used to have a life, now I have grandkids.
