When filing, do you have to list paypal as either a bank account or a creditor? I have no money in my paypal account, just my CC's I'm filing with are joined to it. TIA

If it is a debit card then listed as other financial account.
Under schedule B #2. checking, savings, and other financial account....
and Schedule C for an exemption.


At least, that's what I did.

Hmmm, if I recall I had a "debit card" in the form of a mastercard with them. So I listed them as a creditor, using the number provided on the mastercard. Paypal is actually owned by GEMB bank!

I told my attorney I had a paypal account, but he never listed it, I think I had maybe $20 or less in it.

And I had cards with zero balances, he told me I didn't need to worry about them...Hrm.

ahhh well if you didn't owe money to pay pal .. where as i did. than you should be fine. but i do hear stories that creditors start to shut you down, even if you didn't list them, i could be wrong. if you go into your pay pal, delete those creditors you have attached to the account.

I have $22.45 in my paypal account. Wow. I'm rich, I guess dinner is on me! I don't have backup funding attached to that account. Thought I did. Oh well. Well, in another thread, I had talked about Citibank. I didn't tell them, had a zero balance with them. They are they issuers for my Sears Gold (can't access it online), and also issuers for my Gordon's card (also zero). They left my $15k limit on Citi, but massively reduced the limit on my Gordon's. Must be a matter of time. Was never too fond of Citi, which is why it's been zero for a long time.

I didn't mention it at all. I think of my pay pal account as a "pass through" vehicle only I guess. I usually has just a few dollars and I pull from my checking account. I have a debit card, but never use it.

I don't have a debit card with paypal, I just use it as a way to pay for my purchases on ebay. I have occassionally sold the kids old clothes on ebay, and got paid thru paypal, but I just put the $ back thru to ebay for more clothes for the kids. Been a few months though since I did that.
Speaking of debit cards...I get to keep mine right? It's connected with my checking account, and I use it for everything. It'd be really inconvenient to have to give it up.
