    Anyone forced to cut expenses?

My attorney said I may have to give up a car to try to make my budget balance in a 7...has anyone else had to do this type of thing? I am over median income, but can't seem to balance my monthly budget...sounds like my trustee will want to know how I am going to manage. I do have some cost cutting that I can do in the future, but I'm not sure I should bring that up since it may force me into a 13.
    Thanks,
    Lefty

My attorney said the same thing. When I signed paperwork to reaffirm my van the attorney said he had to put it causes a hardship because my budget is negative. He said there could be a hearing in front of a judge who would decide if I could keep the van or not. I haven't heard anything yet but I'll post here if I do.

Well, yes and no. I've scaled back things I can do without. And I decided not to keep my car, so my projected budget is going to be much less. My mom is willing to help me get a different car once we know what is going on. And paying cash will help, I will just have to deal with routine maintenance, gas, and insurance.

I owe about $11,5k on my car. They can have it. And I did a grocery run tonight. I know, this is gross, but I love liver and onions. Super cheap meal....And will stretch past one night....I have to cut back on food spending cause I eat a ton of salads, and I got through spinach like crazy. Now I'm buying iceberg to plump up my salads and save a little.

              Hey, BKCrazy,...........

If you have an Aldi's, they sell the bags of salad mix. The Iceberg/American/California mix with carrots is $0.99 here. Regular price, all the time.

For me, buying the bag mixes and tomatoes is cheaper than buying all the fixings to make a salad from "scratch". I just soak
'em good in cold water first and "wring" 'em out in the salad spinner.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

Oh, I love Aldi's! I used to shop there when I was in Illinois, but sadly there are none out here. I go to the dollar store most of the time, they actually have fresh produce and other things. I've seen the bagged salads, sometimes those are ok. Once in awhile I will allow myself a cheap trip to Sunflower Markets.

There is a radio talk show called the "Dave Ramsey Show". He has good ideas on saving and budgeting. You can do a web search to find a station in your area or listen to him on the web.
                  I hope this helps.
