Your local court or Legal Aid office may give you this form and explain how to fill it out and file it for free. I'd start there first. Good luck!I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !
10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

I need to claim my wildcard exemption so I can keep my tax refund of 6000.00 without the trustee trying to take it. In certain states like mines VA you have to file a homestead declartion to claim that exemption.*Filed Chp 7 bk 11/13/07 PRO SE :yahoo::yahoo:[x]

OP, I did the paperwork for my family and we filed pro se (Western District VA). In the Code of Virginia, look up 34-14 "How to set apart in personal estate; form to claim exemption of personal property".
It has a sample homestead deed but make sure you add in the part for the notary at the bottom. Here's what I put on ours:
"The foregoing instrument was acknowledged before me this _(date)___ day of __(month, year)___, by __(your name)___.
Signature of householder __(this is where you sign)____
Signature of Notary Public __(notary signs here)____
My commission expires: _______________
It cost us $21 to file it and you take it to the city office where deeds are filed.
I also did all our other papers myself and so far no problems. Make sure you file the homestead deed within 5 days (not business days) of your 341 meeting. If you can file it before your earing, that's even better because then you can take it with you to the meeting.Filed 9/5/07
341 10/4/2007
Last Day for Objections 12/3/2007
DISCHARGED 12/4/2007
