Hello folks, thanks for all of your help. When I got my 341 notice in the mail, it had information on Electronic Bankruptcy Noticing and you get 24 X 7 bankruptcy emails regarding your case.

The web site provided is www.ebnuscourts.com

Have any of you great folks used this service?

looks like this sends you an email every evening with an update of any documents on pacer for free. Funny that I never heard of it though. But it would help a lot of folks cut down on their pacer bill!!!!

I clicked through everything and it doesn't look like there is a catch. If it came on an official court document I would think its probably legit. Inhocknow a well known and reliable member or I would have thought it was an advertisement ..... Thanks, inhock for the info I'm sure other in BK will signing up soon!

The catch is you submit your contact information and the website sells that information to mail list servers.

There has to be some way to make money from this or the company wouldn't offer the service. HHM is right - they probably make their money by selling contact information from those who sign up.

I clicked most of the way through without adding any information also and never saw a security agreement guaranteeing confidentiality or that my personal information would not be sold - not a good sign.

The website might be offered by the court, but who knows how thoroughly the service was investigated? In my experience, the gov't is not terribly savvy about the dangers of the Internet yet. I plan to just keep on checking PACER.

This sounds very similar to the notices I recieve about PACER updates on my account. However, I can't say if it is the same or not.

When I filed. The lawyer asked if I wanted email notifications about anything filed in my case. I said yes and I had a one page paper to fill out giving permission to send the emails, and giving my email address. I belive he said that this was something though our bankruptcy court, not through his offices. I have never recieved any junk mail or spam as a result of it and I've been getting the email notices for over a year. The emails come from an email address from my bankruptcy court.

Talk to your lawyer and ask if there is some0 similar practice in your bankruptcy district before signing up for an unkown service.
