I'm Free - Discharged!

Thanks to all the forum contibutors like Minny...Sinkingfast....the list just goes on and on. I think I made 90-100 posts to get answers at the forum, and someone always chipped in.

I was discharged today. Briscoe made a suggestion to call the bankruptcy court if two days go by after the last date for creditors to object and to inquire about my case. I did just that, and it worked like a charm.

Final date for objections was Monday 10-22-07. I called the Bankruptcy court today - October 26th, and a lady was very helpful and apologized because they were so backed up. But three hours later my case was shown as discharged.

Great feeling to know I can put this behind me and literally get a fresh start. I guess now I will be focusing on the forum's section that talks about improving my credit, FICO, etc.

Thanks to all that helped. I can sincerely say I could not have done it without you. It wasn't just the nuts and bolts advice, but also the intangible moral suppport I received.

I am sooooo jealous!!!! I tried that trick and it did not work, maybe I got the wrong clerk. I even told her my birthday is on Wednesday and this will be a great birthday present and she told me my file looks good and will discharge usually up to 10 days from last objections date. I am hoping Monday, the good thing is no one that was at the 341 meeting was discharged yet, maybe my district has a strick policy but believe me I will be calling on Monday and hopefully, I will get someone else LOL

FS,........... Our Court has waiting periods too.

A week after last day for Objections and Extentions for Discharge. In the middle of the night, the Court computer kicks on and auto generates Discharges. Our last day was a Monday. Tuesday morning, a week later, there it was. Discharged.

30 days after last posting to Close. But the Clerk only Closes cases once a month, at the end of the month. So you could be almost 2 months getting closed if your last posting comes early in a month.
