    Bankruptcy Attorneys in Chicago

Does anyone have any that you have worked with whom have made this process smooth for them?

I still have loads of research to do, read, etc but I wanted to start here first.

    Thanks!

Stay far away from the TV lawyers - I'm sure you know who I mean. I had a really bad experience with one of them before I found this site - and it cost me big bucks to walk away!

I've met with a few others that seem pretty good:

Law offices of Stuart B. Handelman
By consulting with of one our attorneys, you are taking the FIRST STEP to get control of your life & your finances! During our free, confidential consultation, an attorney will evaluate your financial situation and discuss a RANGE OF OPTIONS – both bankruptcy & non-bankruptcy – to effectively address your situation.

I met with Kelly Smith at Stuart's office and she was really cool and took the time to help me realize I could go for a Chapter 7.

    Lorraine Greenberg & Associates LLC
    20 East Jackson Boulevard
    Suite 800
    Chicago, Illinois 60604
    Phone: (312) 408-0007
    Fax: (312) 264-5620
    Website: http://www.wipeoutbills.com

Lorraine is an interesting character but she gave me some good insight into the local trustees.

I'm setting up a meeting with this firm later this week:

    Hope this helps!
    11/13/07 - Filed Chapter 7
    12/13/07 - 341 Meeting
    02/12/08 - Discharged
    02/15/08 - Case closed

Are we not allowed to mention any specific "TV lawyers"? Cuz there is one in mind I thought of going to get "info" from them?!?!

Either way, thanks for your info!!! Can I ask, if you liked Kelly Smith why are you meeting up with others ?

It's always best to meet with more than one attorney since many offer free consultations. I'll probably end up going with Kelly at Handleman's office but it's always good to hear what other attorneys think of my case.

Most of the TV firms are bankruptcy mills and just want to process as many cases as possible, client be damned. You're better off getting your "info" from any firm but them.
