    Finally!!!

    Time for a happy dance!

    After 4 months of waiting, my case is finally closed with Trustees report of no assets. I was discharged 5/11 and closed 9/5 (I just found out!)

    What a relief to have this finally done with! It has been quite a journey and I could not have survived the beginning of it without the support of this group of phenomenal people! I was in complete and utter despair when I found this site, but I found comfort and support here and it got me through.

    THANK YOU ALL!

    Good luck to all that are still going through the process - just know that there IS light at the end of the tunnel.

    Congrats....okay...so whats the difference between closed and discharged..i guess i assumed that the case was closed once discharged

      The majority of no asset cases do get closed either at time of discharge or within 30 days. Some cases remain open if Trustee (or US Trustee) wants to fish some more. My case was as a result of a failed business and being sued by someone - no actual personal credit involved (other than personally guaranteed business debt). I assume it took some time for the Trustee to feel good about closing the case as a no asset.
