Question about a letter to my creditors...>>>

Finally getting over a bout of depression due to my divorce last year & my decision to file bankruptcy. However, I should have file this past spring, but wallowed too much in my own depression. Basically, I go to work, eat, & sleep. My whole life is such a mess, in every aspect.

Well, to cut to the chase - I've got to get on the ball & file. Turns out I can no longer get copies of my past CC statement on line (which I figured happened anyway due to the obvious status of my accounts). I'm certainly not going to call & get harassed, I'm trying to get myself out of this mental rut, not did it deeper.
I plan on sending a letter asking for past statements (I've never received them via snail mail anyway). Will the CC companies actually send them? Will they insist that I pay for the copies that I never received hard copies of anyway (always got them on-line)? If I say it's for legal purposes will they send them? They already know I am "going to file", I've already obtained & even fully paid my lawyer, now I just have to file. Is there a proper way to word my request via mail? Does anyone have a letter format suggestion for this type of request to the CC companies?

Thanks for any suggestions anyone can offer.

I posted this on General Bankruptcy Talk, sorry for the cross post, but no one was responding.

I didn't give my lawyer statements from all my credit card companies. I gathered as many as I could.

For the others I pulled my credit reports from the three reporting agencies and used the information I got from there, especially since much like you I had not kept and in some cases not received bills from them in some time.

I also suffered through a lot of depression regarding my finances before the decision to file so I can understand how hard it is. I wish you the best of luck in taking your life back one step at a time
