    Discharged!!!

Checked PACER this morning and they entered the Discharge late yesterday! I am sooooo happy! I can't believe it is over. One damper on it though. My mortgage co never accepted my last 2 payments so now I am waiting for a reinstatement figure so we can get all caught up. I should have it by Friday. We will pay them up asap and then the last 6+ months of worrying and waiting will finally be over!

I am doing my happy dance anyway though!

    SOOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU.......

Did you reaffirm on you house? Be sure you get that taken care of quickly.......... reaffirms are supposed to take place before discharge.......?????

Also I was under the understanding that you had to be current on mortgages, etc if you were keeping them under chapter 7.....???

    Something doesn't sound right here!!!!

    Tell me more,

        Thank you!

My attorney never had me reaffirm. I filed in May... was current. Paid June. And then they wouldn't take July and August. I was hoping to just be able to call this week and pay up everthything but now I have to get a reinstatement figure to bring it up to speed.

Don't worry... I am on it. I have left messages for 3 days in a row now and I was told I should have the figure by Friday. My attorney is in the know too and says as long as I pay the past due by the time they give I should be all set.

                      Tell me more,
I work in the loan resolution/foreclosure department for a sub-prime mortgage company... maybe I can help answer the question.

All that happens when one of our mortgagers files BK, is everything halts. Once BK is completed or discharged, everything just picks up where it left off. I'm pretty sure you can't sell a house *while* you are in BK, but you could be elegible for a short sale after. We have 26 different options at our company to help people avoid foreclosure... including short sales, deed in lieu, cash for keys, etc. If someone wants to reinstate their loan after a BK, we're thrilled!

Hmmm.... I did all that typing, and I'm not really sure if I answered the question. I need to go to BED!
