Yes you can keep your dogs unless they are worth a substantial amount of money and could be sold to pay toward your debts. I've never heard of this happening.

          Hi...
I love to see people who love their pets so much! I have 3 dogs.one 16 one 15 and a shep mix who is 7...........I would die for them truely, I told my husband if we lose our home, and no one will rent to people with 3 dogs.........I'm taking the 2 old dogs and myself out, I could NEVER part with them....I know it sounds strange but its true they have always been there for me and we got all of them when they were lil tiny pups

I listed 55 for pet food , licenses and vet care, althought mine is more. and on the place where you put your animals value..I put PRICELESS....... and they are to me! So if the trustee questions me on thta or finds it not amusing, I'll apologise and hope for the best, maybe my attorney will change it .who knows

carlsbadmike -- It's a good thing they're not worth any money then because I get to keep them.

MakinMeCrazy -- Oh I feel the exact same way! I'd rather die than to have to give up my dogs or sell them. So in this sense, I'm just glad that the court won't see them as of any value so I can keep them. I have 2 dogs, 4 years and 3 years old since they were pups. All those sleepless nights, getting up every 2-3 hours to potty train them. And your dogs have been with you for so long!

I couldn't sleep for nights when this came up...will they take my dogs away? Now, I'm just a relief to hear from everyone that has been through all this already and was able to keep their dogs.

We're renting now. We're in California. And it seems most pet friendly apartment complexes have only allow a 2 dog max limit in each unit. And even then, it's a bit of hunting around. Good luck with everything.

I think I've hijacked someone else's thread. Ooops.

They are cute when they are very small, but when they get older they lose a lot of wrinkles. I guess they have a face only a mother could love

They are my children. My female is 12 and a 1/2. The two males are 7 years old and the other one is about 4-5 years old. They are all rescues. The males I have had for 2 and 1/2 years.

A neighbor of ours has a sharpei....really cute. The wrinkles give them character. =)

That's great that they're rescues. We really wanted to add a 3rd one to our family...saw a couple of rescues, but with our current financial situation and the fact that we're renting, it'd be really tough to take in a 3rd one. Most of the apartment complexes and condos have a 2 dog max limit. Hopefully, in the future we'll be able to.

That was what I was originally thinking too. But my atty said to list it down even if they're just pets.
