Does it REALLY matter if the creditor reports you as late before you can file? It's being discharged anyway, right?

Whoever owns the debt when you file has to change their coding to IIB, but the original creditor can leave their coding as " X days late" because that's accurate. Lates do drop your credit score. However as we've said on here many, many times, when you have to file bankruptcy, the state of your credit score should be the last thing you are worrying about. Almost total recovery from bk is typical after two years in Ch 7 and right at discharge in Ch 13.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
