Who knows about my bankruptcy?

Well, now. I'm discharged and closed.

I start filing my paperwork away in Box o' Bankruptcy 2007.

I get to thinking I should go to Pacer and print off my completed Document History and Docket Report.

I get a little lost in Pacer, because I go there from one of the links here, not my usual way in. I get to where I have to enter my case #, and because my computer does not remember it from this page, I search my last name in all courts. (by accident - I meant to search only my state.)

Lo, AND Behold! I find a lot of people with my unusual last name.

I scan down and don't recognize any first or family names ( I'm so surprised that there are even that MANY of us) .... and then I see....

My sister.

Yes. Filed five years ago.

So this goes to show you that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

All I can say is ... that is extremely cheap for so much family news.

Pretty low profile! I actually LOVE IT, I can put away the "I GUESS I am the First Wayward Bum" persona. Permanently.

My parents are terrified of bums.

Now you can whisper to Lil Sis that you know her "dirty little secret" and HOPEFULLY all that she brings up is "bankruptcy" and NOTHING ELSE..... LOL....

Yep, its amazing when you check into things, what you can find about relatives......

Most parents don't approve if they are from the old school, I know mine sure wouldn't have.......

But you do what you have to do to SOLVE THE PROBLEMS....

I talk about humor in everything including bankruptcy - well, finding out "Lil Sis" filed too and tried to keep it hid is some of that "humor".......

Thats allright my sister in law is SO against bankruptcy and makes it known A LOT - hence she doesn't know about ours, but I was bored one afternoon when the kids were napping and searched pacer and low and behold her own mother filed bankruptcy in the early 90's. Ha.. no wonder her mom is always so quiet when my sis-in-law starts her rampages.
