What are the signs you may have a good trustee

I read a lot of post that state they were told their trustee is the one they want. What are the signs that tell you have a good trustee???

I just don't want to get my hopes up. My trustee has been a trustee since 1996. I looks like every case discharged and closed within the 4 month period even people after the new law with very high income. However, I did notice the people with assets took a little longer.

Tell me your story or just tell me the signs you look for in pacer.

    Freshstart,
I'm curious how did you go about getting your trustee info from pacer? I am scared to just query on the name, in case I would end up with a thousand pages. Can you limit it by dates? Just don't want to run up a huge bill!

      A good trustee:
      - doesn't go looking for extra money for your creditors when there truly isn't any
      - doesn't pull legal shenanigans to liquidate assets that another trustee would leave alone
      - doesn't use their position for his/her own financial gain
      - understands that real life doesn't always fit neatly into a "one size fits all" bk law
      - treats everyone with dignity and respect
      - etc.

None of this is going to show up on PACER.

The reality is that who you get as a trustee is entirely dependent on how the trustees are assigned to new cases in your area bk district. The debtor doesn't get to pick and choose. So even if you know ahead of time you are getting the trustee from hell or the trustee from heaven, it won't change what's going to happen in your case.

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

LOL, the first time I looked up his name I ran up a huge bill of $28
I think I looked under report, there was a drop down selection for trustees and I selected dates from and to, this is very important or you will end up with a million of cases and nice size bill

It looks like I have a fair trustee. I would be a waste of time and energy to find any extra money or assets on us. We own nothing but two older cars and maxed out 401k that once valued at $2000 anyhow. If they find something that we did not know we had I would love them for it because we have been struggling for nothing. LOL.
