    Making More Money??

How long after you file before you can increase your income? I remember reading it and cant find it. I need to make a list of things I think are useful and keep them handy. Because that question always comes up later.

My timing skills are something to be desired!

    Thanks for All the Information!!

If your filing chapter 7 you can start making more money the day after you file. It might not be a bad idea to wait till discharge. But you can start making more the day after you file.

Most bk lawyers will recommend that you wait to increase your income until after your 341 meeting. The reason is that some trustees will ask during the 341 meeting if your income has changed since filing, and you don't want to get caught lying to the court. It's just a few weeks to wait - not worth the chance of getting into trouble.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

      06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
      06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
      07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
      09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
      08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

      10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

That makes sense. But it would be actual income received correct? Like if I file say on the 1st of August and my 341 meeting is what 2weeks - 3 weeks after. And start working another job on Aug 27th but don't get the check for that until Aug 10 or 17th then I should be okay?

I think I have set my Goal to file by the 1st. I think my biggest problem is that I will somehow miss something and it come up after the fact. I dont know how long after I file I can add to the original. If I remember correctly some creditors will automatically remove the charges if they are not significant when you say you filed bankruptcy. I think I have all the extreme debits covered. If any come up they should be minor.

My sister filed some years ago and I dont know if it was her fault or the attorneys but she has a bunch of stuff that wasn't put in the bankruptcy. Which is terrible for her.
