Okay Landlord finally served court papers but I already file what do I do

I'd agree with SF. Leave the keys where he can find tham and no long letter. Just a short note saying we will be out by whatever day.

Thanks for the advice. I will do just that, because keys can get lost even if you send them overnight but if you leave them in the kitchen or somewhere they you know you left them in the house.

Should I tell him a few days before I leave that I will be out at such and such date or should I wait until the day before??? I don't trust him anymore, I want to make sure we have time to get everything out.

I'd get everything out then I'd leave the keys and notes.

I wouldn't say more to him until you were sure you weren't coming back
