That is something I have been trying to find out about...BK being published in the papers. I have looked in the Indy Star and then the local county papers but can't seem to find any listings anywhere. Not sure if they dont publish them where I live or I am looking in the wrong section. I would assume it would be in the classified section somewhere, maybe under personal notices...?

Where do they list them in the Evansville paper?

Trust me when I say that most of us on this board have been where you are right now. Filing bankruptcy is the last thing most of us ever thought we would have to do - getting to that realization is completely draining emotionally and physically.

It takes time and knowledge to create a "bankruptcy comfort zone" and finally start sleeping well at night again. You will find that comfort zone in time - just keep researching and reading the forum. You'll wake up one day and realize that you don't have to be as consumed as you are right now, I promise!

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

      06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
      06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
      07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
      09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
      08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

      10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

Sorry to ramble on like that...it seems like this is all I think about from the minute I wake to when I go to bed, although I don't actually sleep much these days.

I wouldn't worry about having charges questioned. It's very, very unlikely that any would be challenged. Even if there would be a challenge, wouldn't you be better off?

You're paying a huge cost to wait. The great thing about these boards is that they provide wonderful support and information. The downside is that they provide so much information that it can drive us crazy. This is such a stressful time that it's hard to think straight. It's easy to get too wrapped up trying to avoid every single bad thing that might possibly happen and pay a huge emotional cost as a result.

I am not in Indiana but I seem to recall that the Evansville paper has been said to post it.

Yup - Evansville Couier and Press posts them in the Local/Business section of the paper, usually every two weeks or so, just so we get the pleasure of being COMPLETELY embarrassed and ahsamed.

Not real sure why this is newsworthy, but my former employers will find it interesting, I'm sure. Used to work with Old National Bank, Citizens State Bank before that . . . .

I was part of the system, now I'm screwing the system . . . .

We actually didn't loose anything in Filing a 7 and were never pushed towards a 13. We were only a few hundread dollars below the median. And that was because my maternity leave was on the six month look back. Our schedule only showed $20 positive each month. We had bought a house through first time home buyers a year and half before filing. We kept that no problems. We had two vehicles, an older beater and an almost paid off car. We fit both of those under the exemptions no problem and kept those. The only thing we lost was a few hundread dollars of our tax return. However, we were even able to cover a large part of our return under our exemptions and kept most of it.
We had a few creditors threaten to object, but they never did. That was only because we realized we needed to file and filed that month. We didn't wait for a balance transfer to age a bit.
