buying a used car after filing?

Have him sign the title to you but put no date on it have a bill of sale handy just for the time being to show cops if you get pulled over put the date on the title when you get ready to register it . OR just have him sign the title to you and if anything ever comes up w/ the bankruptcy then dont tell them it was financed tell them it was a gift as long as you habve a title the tag office will not ask for a bill of sale they wont ask how much you paid either so the only way for the trustee to know it was financed is through your FIL and if he wont tell then it was a gift on the bankruptcy forms it ask only before you file or as of the day you file.If it becomes an issue then put it down as property and claim it as exempt

Thanks familyof7. We are picking the car up the weekend before 341. It's going to sit in the driveway until I can afford to pay the DMV fees. Most likely after the 341.
