Well tomorrow my spouse is filing chapter 7. The road is beginning to get bumpy already. Getting calls at home now from creditors. At least now I know what they're for. Only he is filing. Really getting nervous now. Atty says they will send out the notices next week to creditors and to refer their calls to him. I hope this guy knows what he's doing. I feel like my life is being held in someone else's life right now. Thanks for all the interesting reading(and sometimes scary). What comes next I don't know.

Sit down, relax a little, and let your attorney do his job....... he will contact you if there is a problem.....
You will attend your 341 meeting within the next 6 weeks, then after that the next 60 days you will be waiting on objections from the creditors (rarely happens) in Chapter 7 cases.
As far as the phone, use an answering machine, or caller ID..... if creditors call after the Notice to Creditors has been mailed out, then contact your attorney and let him handle them (or refer them to the attorney)..... no need to discuss anything with the creditos any longer....

Trust your attorney... if you don't, get another one. Filing is a very difficult decision... but you will feel relief once it's done. And then you wait for your 341 and worry about that... and then after the 341 you'll worry about creditors objecting (I am!). It's a long road but it wasn't meant to be a carefree thing
You'll be fine. The creditors will stop calling, they have to. And be thankful for this chance for a new financial start for your family! Good luck to you!!!

Thanks guys. He filed Friday but Atty said he didn't get confirmation? He may have to go back Tuesday and resubmit. Maybe some kind of computer glitch? I appreciate all of your good wishes. I wish I could help others but I don't know what is happening yet. I think if everything goes ok I'll breathe a little easier. Atty said so far that the debt to income came in the right range. I will be so happy for a fresh start not only financially but I already see a huge difference between us. No more secrets. That in itself is a big relief. I still wonder though.... Priest said that will come with time and no more deception.
