Just received a refund check from my mortgage company due to overpayment of Escrow from 2006. I was planning on using this check to assist paying the lawyer (around $700). Would this check be considered income? I haven't deposited or cashed it; figured I'd get some insight from the fine folks here on the best way to handle this before cashing it. Appreciate any assistance!!!
