    Discharge vs closing??

    Hi all,
I'm seeing my bk attrny tomorrow to get started on ch 7! Very nervous.
After reading many threads I know so much about the process and I need to remain calm.
Question: I don't understand why a case gets discharged but has yet to close. What's the difference and why do some take so long to close?

    Wish me luck!

Cases take longer to close if there are assets to distribute. First, when the case is discharged, it is ordered that you are relieved of your debts. They will close your case once the court is satisified there are no assets to collect and distribute among the creditors.

HMM goes over it a little bit in FAQs -
      Filed: 10/26/2006
      Discharged: 03/05/2007
Closed: 5/19/2008 - Asset case due to balance transfer and income tax refund
