This is ludacris. I have had my cat longer than my children and they don't ask me to find a home for them. They need to find a resonable allowance just like evrything else . I understand don't have 10 animals and expect to be able to write it all off but , if i have a cat or 2 for 13 years . Anmyway please complain here lol. I feel better now thank you.

just found out yesteday my cat if diabetic. 497.00 for the visit, testing, and insulin supplies. ...he has to get insulin twice a day. Then next month he has to go in for the day for a series of test a about 250!! Owning a pet is a great responsibility. There is nothing that would keep me from paying for his meds and visits. I know that some trustees do allow for pet expenses.Chapter 7 Pro Se....Discharged Feb. 2006

We got our pet expenses. Nothing big. Our cat was fairly healthy until we fed him tainted food. Food, litter, and our few Vet bills added up to $45/mo. We claimed that and no one said anything about it.
I know others here didn't get their pet expenses. It really depends on the Trustee you draw.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

I remember sitting in our lawyers office with my son and him saying the courts don't really look at pet expenses (even food cost) as necessary AND they feel the same for kid's birthday/holiday gifts. I remember looking at my son and then my lawyer and asking "So we aren't allowed to buy him anything or feed his dog?" He laughed and said he felt the same way, it's needs to be in there somewhere, that if they courts were going to make you fill out and expense schedule they should have ALL normal expenses. He just tweaked our schedules to allow for all of our costs, putting them in other categories."Try to save money. Someday it may be valuable again." - Anonymous

Let's see, a pet can be an entertainment expense--mine definitely is entertaining at times! Also, an exercise/health expense--I wouldn't be motivated to walk without her. And, let's see, also an emotional support animal so a mental health expense! (I'm just joking about putting it in schedules as that, but they should be able to fit.)*** THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE--ONLY A LAWYER CAN PROVIDE THAT. ***

Anybody Familiar
I added my cats food expense to ours as well. We don't have big vet bills but we do have big food bills for our cat. He is allergic to most cat foods so he eats a special diet that costs a lot of money.
Mannn, my cat Shadow has been a "sick puppy," since I rescued him. He had lost alot of his facial hair and was on a heavy ring worm antibiotic. It has grown back since than. Now he's got a raw ass (I'm sure of it LOL but poor lil' thing) from having diarrhea almost a month now! My vet suggested kapectate instead of the expensive vet meds. It seemed like it was working but now its not. His butt just RUNZZZZ, I have more laundry than not cuz of this and my apt is becoming a poop zone! What do you think is wrong with this critter ???
He is still very energetic, hasn't lost his appetite at all. I just don't know what to do ! ! ! Any suggestions why he is going through this ??? My other cat which is a half bengal/half abbysinian has none of this - seems like she's got a strong immune system!

Has your Vet done a stool sample test to rule out intestinal parasites?? That might be a place to start.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

CMIYC, I'm really sorry to hear about your cat having problems. Pets can get quite expensive, huh. I hope that you find out the cause of his diarrhea and that he'll be better soon. Gosh, a month with that problem, you'd think he wouldn't have anything left in him to poop out. The poor thing must be miserable with a sore behind.341 meeting: January 3, 2007
