    Interesting - rebuilding credit

I found this among other ways to rebuild or get negative items removed from your credit report off a website I found:

    How to get Bankruptcy removed:

CHECK BANKRUPTCY OFF YOUR CREDIT FILE, BY CHECKING IT OUT!

The following method of manipulation works (according to some who have used it) when combined with the precious "change of address" method. Just follow these next five steps!

1.Discuss the technique with an attorney who is willing to help. 2.Because bankruptcy is overseen by federal courts, bankruptcy files are kept in the federal archives.
3.Before you apply for credit, have your attorney request to have your file "checked-out" from the federal archives.
4.Using your out-of-state address as described in the previous "change of address" method, follow the normal procedure used
for appealing any damaging information appearing on your credit
    report.
5.As long as your attorney has your bankruptcy file, a credit reporting agency will not be able to verify its contents. If they
cannot make verifications within 30 days, they must remove the
damaging information form your credit report. Because credit
bureaus can request an extension, your attorney may have to
repeat the process several times. It becomes a question of who
will tire first. According to those-in-the-know, it's usually the
    credit bureau.

My question is, what attorney would ever do this??? sounds shady to me.........

My non-lawyer opinion - if you do this, you are committing fraud. No legit lawyer in his right mind would put his practice on the line for this kind of scheme.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

    06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
    06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
    07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
    09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
    08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

    10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

        10 years crappy credit or....
The next 40-50 years paying off debt I can't afford to pay.
Or 20 years in the big house for fraud.
        Hmmmmm.

I'll take the 10 years crappy credit. It's one heck of a small price to pay in my opinion for a fresh start in life.

I'll take the 10 years crappy credit over 20 years in the big house. By the time 10 years is up I'll only be 35.. still young enough to build really good credit.

Is beginning to look real good to me now, maybe I could catch up on some much needed sleep and I definitely wouldn't have to deal with all this stress.

20 years from now, I won't be here, I would get federal medical care, which is more than I have now. No more cooking, no more cleaning, I could become a recluse, yep looking REAL good to me (but I would miss my computer).
I used to have a life, now I have grandkids.

In today's "modern" age and given the fact that your BK file is essentially digital, I can't imagine there is any meaningful way to "check it out".

On the flips side, I don't see that there is anything fraudulent about it.
