Not sure about tax refunds

Ours is/was a "No Asset" case.

After our 341, everyone there that day except us and another Lady, got the "341 Held. Trustee's statement of No Assets." The other Lady and us, the Trustee wants to see our income taxes.

Nothing was posted on PACER about our 341 Meeting. PACER still shows our 341 Meeting Date as Scheduled, but does not say our 341 was held or anything.

I don't know what to tell you about your taxes. I'd think, if the Trustee was interested, you'd know. Seems the rest of us that the Trustee wants to see our taxes were told already.

Is there a meeting that you have to go to then to show the trustee your taxes since you said he wants to see yours. Here I had gotten the impression that PACER was a good way to keep people updated on their bk, but it doesn't sound like that's the case with you if it doesn't even say that your 341 was held, how weird. I really hope that you're right that if the trustee would want to see our taxes he'd have already let us know. Nothing was ever said to us about our taxes, not by him and not by our lawyer. I wish you luck with yours. I think you said though that you'll have to pay money in, so I don't know what the trustee thinks he's going to get from your taxes.

PACER is a good way to keep track of your case. Just that one thing is off on ours. Our Discharge shows correctly. So there obviously was a 1st Meeting of the Creditors. Just the Trustee didn't post a notation about the 341 for whatever odd reason. That other Lady's case is the same way.

And, No, we don't have to go to another meeting. We filed our taxes, e-file, like usual. Only this year we asked for checks for our refunds, instead of Direct Deposit. Then, we submitted copies of our taxes and a W-2 Statement to our attny. He'll pass copies along to the Trustee.

That's all done. And now we wait. To see if the Trustee keeps our refunds or what. Our attny said the Trustee typically doesn't go after Tax Refunds unless the Filers are getting back in excess of $1K.

Frankly, I could really care less about the money. He can have it for all I care. I just don't want to have to wait for the 90 days, or whatever, for our Creditors to file claims for their slice of our whopping big $560 pie. I just want this thing said and done and Closed.

SF, I really hope things go well for you, but yeah, I can certainly understand about wanting it all over and done, closed, end of story. At least I can say that I learned a lot through this ordeal. For one, it's not as bad as I was expecting. Another thing is that filing bk is a heck of a lot faster/more do-able than our trying to pay off all of our cc debt. Even though it's a stressful time, it was far more stressful for us realizing that we couldn't pay off our debts and not knowing what we were going to do. I hope to one day be able to put this behind us and start anew. We're already doing without credit and learning to budget. Those credit card companies can take a long walk off a short plank. They're just a bunch of hyenas.
