Based on this is Closing almost here ?

Last day for creditors to claim assets for distribution from trustee was 2/8/2007, one filed. Trustee just filed his "Clerks Statement of Cost" on 2/8/2007 also........listed amount due as zero.

This was a Chapter 7 case with one asset, pref. payment recovered by trustee to chase of $7,500.00.

Am I close to closing or what comes next ?

If I understand you correctly, you were an asset Ch.7. If so, the trustee will/has collected the pref. payment and will then submit that to the US Trustee, where it can sit for the next 4 to 5 months before he/she gets around to dispursing the monies to all of your creditors. Without getting into the month-by-month process, asset cases usually will close roughly a year after the discharge date.

What will tell you when your case is nearing the closing date is when the Final Report is filed.
    Bankruptcy History:
    Chapter 7 filed - 10/12/2005 - Asset
    Discharged - 02/16/2006
    Case Closed - 11/08/2007

I filed on Oct. 5th, 2005, discharged on January 17th, 2006...........trustee is really slow. Think since he is this close he could be in a hurry since its been so long ?

Question? During the time that you were discharged and the trustee filing final report, does the trustee still monitor your credit and or taking on additional credit?

I too had a ch.7 asset case, and paid trustee $5700. I filed back in 6/05 and was discharged 01/06. I am still waiting for trustee to submit report to us trustee. Just getting nervous, because I just moved out of state, and didn't notify trustee.

You can keep track of things in PACER ! I was a NO ASSET CASE, but now the Trustee has submitted a notice for assets, my lawyer says not to worry, I've trusted him this far! Where the heck do you get the money to give the Trustee??? $5700 ??? Heck, I owe a little over $4000 to the IRS!

I filed in July Ch13 2006, Converted to Ch7 in Oct 2006, was discharged in Jan 2007, but as you see above Trustee looking for Assets! WISH IT WOULD JUST CLOSE, Discharge feels great but CLOSING would be a heck of alot better feeling!

Like you discharge was felt good but closeing is what Im waiting for. Closing means its done................Im wanting to get a home improvement loan to fix the house which is in need of many items.

I'm very cautious about getting an equity loan until closing happens plus I'm guessing but a loan company probably would feel the same.
