Bankruptcy Help

I am new here but I need advice badly. I just had my bank accounts frozen by a collection company. I went to court today to file an order to show cause to vacate the judgement against me and release my funds but now I am thinking about filing bankruptcy since i cannot afford to have my check garnished. I don't have money to get an attorney so I wondering if anyone has ever done their bankruptcy by themselves?

I haven't, but lots of people on this board know lots about this and can probably help walk you through it. Apparently the process is fairly simple if you have no assets. Good luck with it!

We had a lawyer but if I would have known about this site and you can also check out www.chat-cards.com (another question and answer site) I would have done our bk myself. Good luck!

I have actully gone to these bankruptcy people - we the people and they are charging about $254 to file the petition and check my credit history and then to file the papers in court is another $209. So thats about 463 that I had to borrow to get the ball rolling...
