    Moving/Address Change

Well, we found a place to live in Chicago and we're moving from Michigan in mid April. If I'm expecting a discharge at about the same time and say, if I get my discharge papers in the mail to my current address, DO I STILL HAVE TO NOTIFY THE COURT ABOUT AN ADDRESS CHANGE? How long do I have to check in with them.

According to my paperwork that came during my Bankruptcy you must inform the court of any address change you have prior to the closure of your case. The heading on this page is United States Bankruptcy Court so I would assume that it dosen't matter what state you live in us still have to tell them when you move.

What about after discharge. I heard or read somewhere that you have to let the court know where you're at for a year after discharge. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Yes, you have to keep the court informed of your mailing address for 1 year after discharge.
