WE just got our notice to have our 341 meeting yesterday. Meeting is scheduled for the 29th of this month. I've been going over our past bank statements and for this last month our beginning balance is like 600 and our ending balance is 1200. We recieved our tax refund check last month and we used that to pay for our attorny and to put new tires on both our cars. (which they desperatly needed) I was wondering if there would be a problem with the ending balance being so high. when i look at past bank statements they've been around 400-500 ending balance. should i bring in more than 3 past statements to show how it usally is. ( i also picked up a part time job in Jan. which will end in April so that money wont be there after that) Another question, we just recieved a notice from one of our medical bills that we're discharging with bk, they said if they dont recieve the money in 10 days that they would proceed with collection procedures. Do I have anything to worry about? should i send them money? thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about the money in your account as long as you told your lawyer about it (the amount that you had in there the day you filed.) Exemptions vary from state to state (in NY cash exemption is $2500, I think.) Can you look at your petition and see what you put down for "cash on hand"? As far as your tax refund, I believe that's another one that varies by state. In NY, mine was exempt. Bottom line - if I were you I'd call your lawyer. Or, post your state here and see if someone else can help. Good luck!
