Little Poll : Lawyer or No - ?

I want to know who used a lawyer and who did not?

If you did...was it worth it?

If not...was it worth it? And what is the best book on the topic of filing without a lawyer?

    I did NOT.

I found some of the forms difficult, and it was REALLY intimadting to do everything by myself, but I learned so much, and gained so much confidence from doing it solo. However, I also had a very cut and dry case, so I didn't have too much to worry about in terms of complications.
BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!

Used a lawyer and wished I wouldn't have. He seemed great at first, I went to see him twice for free before I filed and gave him $500. Since than, the office is ignoring my phone calls, he didn't show to my 341 meeting and so on....

I'm the type of person that likes to learn, during this whole process, I ended up educating myself and now think I could have done a much better job than he ever did. I have a semi complecated case since I'm surrendering 2 real estate properties. I still think I could have done it all myself.

I'm expecting a discharge in mid April.

            Hi,
We used a Lawyer. He was great. It took so much pressure off us it was worth it to use him. He was quick and through. It was 3 days from the time we filled out paperwork, signed and he filed it. I felt so much better. It was a hard time for us anyway. I did not want the additional stress of trying to prepare my own paperwork while under the stress of this situation. Who knows if I would of done it right. He was worth every penny!

Ignoring your calls huh? Sounds like your is attorney standing steadfast by the "time is money" concept! This isn't uncommon practice, believe it or not! Glad to have learned that you were proactive, at taking the initiative to learn as much about BK on your own as possible.
