Question for anyone else who has already filed Pro-se

Quick question for you... how did you "file" the copies of your pay stubs, the copies of your tax returns and the copies of your counseling certificates? Were there forms you had to submit them with or did they just go with all the rest of the documents?

Lastly, is there an additional filing fee for any of this stuff or does the $299 cover everything?
    Filed Ch. 7 Pro-Se: 10/12/06
    341: 11/6/06 (went AMAZINGLY well!)
    Discharge: 1/12/07
    Closed:1/19/07

Copies of the pay stubs and tax returns were mailed to the trustee. We filed our 1st certificate with all the other paperwork when we filed. When we received our 2nd certificate, we took it to the courthouse.

The 299 covers it all unless you have to amend something. Please make sure that you have listed ALL creditors before you file. I left one off and had to pay to have it added.

    Good luck.

      Thank you VERY much!

I thought of another question though... When you "file" Do you need to separate all the various schedules, forms etc. etc. or do they want it as one large lump? Do they go through it when you file it to make sure you have everything or is it "hand it over and cross your fingers"?

Oh! Lastly, filing manually I have read that you have to have two copies of some of the schedules/forms/whatever.... do you know which ones? or is it all of them?

      Thanks again!

Your so welcome. It feels good to finally be able to answer someone else's questions. Usually I am the one asking.

Our courthouse had an example of the order they would like for it to be turned in. The lady said that most people dont adhere to that and they will fix it but they dont really like to.

You may want to call your courthouse before you make a lot of copies. I had gotten on my courts website and they at one time wanted like 4-5 copies of each item turned in. So I went and made all of those copies at Staples. Well as it turns out, most have converted to electronic and only ask for the originals now. Of course make a copy for yourself though. Also, my courthouse doesnt like to have the papers attached together in anyway individually,ex...schedule A with continuation sheet, dont attach those by stapling or paper clip. They wanted ours all grouped together with one clip. Like I said though, I would call your courthouse to get their particulars. I cant really answer the question about if they would let you know if you were missing something. I believe they would have let us know. I think you will find the more you adhere to their requests the more helpful they will be.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Yes,call the courthouse and talk to the Clerk.Mine was extremely helpful.I wish I had known not to make all those copies before I went to the Courthouse to file my petition. The website said 2 copies plus original and the phone info said 4 copies plus original. So of course I went out and got 4 more copies besides my original,I get to the courthouse and the clerk says 'we only need the original but I'll stamp one for your copy'.Ugh.
My pay stubs and certificate required a 'form' to be filed with them.So did my Management Course Certificate for discharge.
          Good luck. Debbie

Donna you made a very good point. I forgot all about it. Lostone, make sure you do call your local courthouse and ask them if they require any additional forms besides the federal ones. Mine also requested a couple. Nothing major really easy stuff but your wont be accepted if not included.
