Median Income chart is SUPER confusing- HELP!!!

Your total household income can be $50,408 for a family of 3. One person can be earning it all. You and your Spouse's combined income could add up to that. If your child is old enough to work and contributes anything toward the Household expenses, that get's added in too.

Thanks. I suspected that was the case. It's just a little confusing b/c of change in terms from "earner" to "people." It would make more sense for the chart to just say, 1 person, 2 people, 3 people, etc... As an English teacher, I can't really see the reasoning in them changing terminology like that. It's very illogical.

I completely understand your point there, Sister.

1 earner could mean a family of 4 with a working parent, a SAH Parent, and 2 small children.

But it doesn't.

Those numbers are the Household count, debtor and debtor's dependents. Not how many earners there are in the household.

Wait til you get more into the process of the new law vs the old law! than let me know what is illogical.
