    Quick Question

So hypothetically my bf traveled out of the country to Europe back in October for his daughters birthday, friends and family paid for more than half of the plane ticket because he couldn't afford it but he payed 300 dollars for a hostel, he decided not to stay in the hostel due to poor living conditions so he stayed with his separated ( soon to be ex) wife for free for a little over a week to spend time with his daughter. I'm pretty sure he used mostly a debit card during his trip, but if he used his credit card but paid off the credit

Would this effect his case if we file Chapter 7 in about 2 or 3 months?

    Welcome to BKForum.

First, unless you are married at the time of filing your Chapter 7, you cannot file a joint chapter 7. Second, as for the travel, it shouldn't be an issue with 90 days having passed since the trip. Finally, paying off a credit card within 90 days of filing could cause other things to happen. It won't affect your BF, per se, but it would allow a Trustee to potentially claw back the payments and then divide it among all other creditors.

There are too many factors to consider. However, making regular minimum payments on the credit card are a good thing. That shows that you have the intent and ability to make the payments.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
