I'm contemplating filing chapter 7. I have a checking account with USAA. I have renters insurance only. I don't have any loans or credit cards with them. If I file chapter 7, will they close my checking account. I heard that some banks or credit unions will close your account or freeze your funds if you file bankruptcy even if you don't owe them any money.

My accounts were not frozen. The only notorious bank to freeze an account is Wells Fargo. There may be individual credit unions that do so, but USAA is not a credit union.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
