Strange I just received a 1099-C for the debt that was discharged

in my recent Chapter 7.

The 1099-C states "cancellation of debt", "amount of debt discharged - xxxx.xx"

I know this debt was included in my Chapter 7, even though there is no mention of bankruptcy on the 1099-C.

Am I going to have a problem come tax return time?

This is not a big deal or unusual as such reporting is a requirement of the Internal Revenue Code. Take it to your tax preparer. He/she will deal with it by utilizing IRS form 982.
