I need some help with chapter 7. What will my credit report look like after the bankruptcy has been discharged? Someone told me that all of the information will remain on my report anyway. If so what is the point? The way I understood it was that if I looked at my report it would be empty. I tought that all of the negitive info would be erased and it would just show chapter 7 under the public file section of my report.

all the negitive info could stay on the credit report for up to 10 yrs. I actually just rec'd a copy of my report and some if the accts have "petition for chapter 7 bankruptcy/past due #### of days", some have "discharged through bankruptcy chapter 7" and one has "includd in bankruptcy". I would suggest to get get a copy of your report just to make sure that everything that was included in the bk, is. hope this helps.

What's your report supposed to look like? Everything is supposed to read "IIB (Included in Bankruptcy), Zero Balance."
What does mine look like right now? A murder scene. (I'm in the middle of CH7.)
Check out some other credit repair boards about how to dispute items on your report that are inaccurate. From what I understand, it's a long grueling road but the reward of a good FICO score is well worth the work!
Good luck!
